OnePlus 5T with 6-inch 18:9 display launched, prices start at Rs 32,999: source 91mobiles.com

Almost five months ago, OnePlus unveiled its flagship smartphone called the OnePlus 5 (review). Now, the company has finally unveiled a slightly upgraded variant of the phone called the OnePlus 5T. As revealed by a smorgasbord leaks earlier, the new OnePlus flagship flaunts an all-screen front with minimal bezels. The phone comes with an improved dual camera setup, a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor as compared to the front-facing one on its predecessor, and a facial recognition to let you unlock the device just by looking at it.

Apart from the display and dual camera setup, the rest of the specs of the OnePlus 5T are the same as the OnePlus 5. The OnePlus 5T flaunts a premium all-metal unibody design with its antennas placed on the top and bottom edges at the rear. The handset retains a 3.5mm headphone jack. The facial recognition feature on board utilises over 100 facial feature identity points to securely unlock the handset. 
The OnePlus 5T flaunts a 6.01-inch full HD+ Optic AMOLED display with 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass 5 on top and a pixel density of 401ppi. The phone is powered by a 2.45GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, mated to an Adreno 540 GPU. The device comes in two RAM and storage variants – 6GB + 64GB and 8GB + 128GB. Software-wise, the handset boots OxygenOS based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat.

As for the dual camera setup, the OnePlus 5T gets a 16MP Sony IMX 398 primary snapper at the rear, accompanied by a 20MP IMX 376K sensor. Both the cameras have an aperture of f/1.7 and a focal length of 27.22mm. The setup is capable of recording 4K videos at 30fps, 1,080p at 60fps and 30fps and 720p slow-mo videos at 120fps. Unlike the OnePlus 5, the 5T doesn’t feature a telephoto lens, and relies on digital zoom instead. However, the Portrait mode feature for bokeh images is retained. For selfies, the device gets a 16MP Sony IMX 371 sensor with an aperture of f/2.0 and 1,080p video recording support.

In terms of connectivity, the OnePlus 5T offers 4G LTE, VoLTE, dual-SIM slots, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0 with support for aptX HD, USB Type-C, NFC and A-GPS. The device features a bottom-facing speaker, three microphones with noise cancellation and Dirac HD Sound. The phone is fuelled by a 3,300mAh battery with Dash Charge fast charging technology.
The OnePlus 5T has been priced the same as its predecessor. The phone’s 6GB RAM model costs Rs 32,999, while the 8GB variant will set you back by Rs 37,999. The device will be up for grabs in an early access sale on Amazon India, OnePlus’ e-store and the OnePlus experience store in Bengaluru on November 21st. The handset’s open sales will kick off in the country on November 28th.


As for the launch offer, the OnePlus 5T comes bundled with a whopping 1,008GB of data for Idea users and an instant cashback of Rs 1,500 for HDFC bank credit and debit card users purchasing the device via Amazon until December 2nd.
