India Kawasaki Motor is providing a sneak peek into its upcoming model in the country on its official website. The bike behind the 'coming soon' wall, however, can be easily identified as the Vulcan 650 S cruiser. The Japanese premium bikemaker already offers the mid-sized cruiser in its domestic as well as the other markets including the US and the UK. Currently, Harley-Davidson is the only popular manufacturer that offers its Street 750 and Street Rod models in the respective segment, while Royal Enfield is going to introduce its 650cc twin-cylinder classic bikes next year.

The Kawasaki Vulcan S is a sporty cruiser, based on the company's 'Ergo Fit' technology that offers a combination of adjustable components for riders of different stature. What makes it different from rest of the cruisers is its sports bike derived chassis that makes the bike feel light and agile.

The Vulcan S features conventional telescopic forks at the front while an off-set adjustable monoshock suspension at the rear. It sports bike influenced lightweight wheels shod with high-traction tyres which further provides the bike with a good hold on the tarmac.

It shares the same 649cc, parallel-twin motor with the popular Ninja 650. The motor, however, has been re-tuned for slightly different characteristics and it churns out 62.8Nm of torque at 6,600rpm. The engine comes mated to a six-speed transmission which is also different as compared to the Ninja 650 or the Z650 models which are already available in the Indian market.

Beside the above mentioned Harley-Davidson models, the Hyosung Aquila Pro is another rival for the upcoming Kawasaki cruiser. The Vulcan S is expected to be priced around Rs 5.5 lakh and ABS (anti-lock braking system) will be a standard feature of the bike.
