Agartala| Updated on December 26, 2017 : Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT-NC) would contest the upcoming Assembly elections alone, claimed party president NC Debbarma.
IPFT has already prepared a list of 56 candidates for 2018 Assembly election and candidate list will be declared once election schedule is declared, he said at a press conference here on Sunday.
Debbarma made it clear that the party would contest the elections on one-point demand-Tipraland. “So far, no political party has agreed on Tipraland demand prompting us to go to the election alone. Alliance talks can take place with any national party if it accepts our demand-Tipraland”, he pointed out.
Making it clear that IPFT would contest in all the 20 ST reserved seats, the bureaucrat-turn- politician said the party will also contest in two unreserved seats and ten SC reserved constituencies in the coming Assembly elections.
